WATER HYDERABAD Signature camp at ORACLE on 26-Apr-09 Water Hyderabad, which was launched on the World Water Day, 22nd March'09 took few steps further in its action towards implementing the plans. Some of the messages delivered throughout the campaign. Drink a glass of water and satiate your souls, simple isn’t it? But, have you ever thought how our lives would be without the lement called WATER?.Giving a thought is as simple as gulping down a glass of water in to your body. Yes, results would be disastrous . Signs of the disaster have already started in parts of the world and our very own country. Water crisis may lead to war between countries and states or a civil war may breakdown, if an action is not taken to conserve and optimally use “the Precious”. We couldn’t predict current “Recession”. It was our imbalanced financial system which got us in to it. We are acting in the same way consuming all our resources beyond recovery.
Water is our lifeline that should not be taken for granted. Water regulates the earth’s temperature and also regulates the temperature of our body. Some Bitter facts: Ø Each household wastes 66.6 litres of water everyday! Ø Dripping and trickling taps waste over 10,000 litres of water per week ! Ø Four gallons of water is being wasted while brushing your teeth! Ø The new eye-catching showers spew out at least 40 to 60 litres a minute! The awareness and signature campaign started on 22nd April'09 at ORACLE. Oracle was associated with Water Hyderabad as a part of its EARTH DAY celebrations for the whole week from 20th April'09 to 24thApril'09. The program was held at Oracle main campus on the first day. It started with introduction of Water Hyderabad –its purpose and existence, registrations, awareness on Rain Water harvesting pits-its conservation, maintenance , various techniques, WALTA act. Few informative refers like stickers containing the blog details on water conservation and leaflets were distributed. Rain water harvesting kit has helped us to gather the attention of many people as it relates the real rain water harvesting pit working procedure. Inquisitive people came down and asked questions regarding rain water harvesting and Water Hyderabad's further activities which were satisfactorily answered. Interested people who were willing to have rain water harvesting pits asked us to guide them through respective departments of Govt. Documentaries and presentations related to water conservation were being played. The experience on the first day made us to organize constructively on the day-2 relatively. The program was held at cyber gateway which holds many companies in one building. The rain water harvesting method was demonstrated my HMWSSB official and Water Hyderabad volunteers. The third day was held at cyber towers. We thank each and every individual for allowing us to take Water Hyderabad forward. Our special thanks to Oracle, its employees, volunteers team for allowing us to spread the message to its family.
