Flood Relief

Dear Friends,

Andhra Pradesh has lashed by torrential rains and the worst flooding in 100 years – what’s more, scientists say we will see more of this kind of thing as global warming speeds up. This is another crisis that needs us to act.

Flood waters have been ravaging parts of Andhra Pradesh for the past several days as a result of incessant rain in Andhra Pradesh. These floods have affected millions of people making them homeless and crippling life. In many cases the affected regions are lacking drinking water and food. The situation in these flood affected areas has become dire as communication and power have broken down completely and large parts of the flood affected areas are not reachable by road.

As we are aware of, the people of southern Andhra Pradesh have suffered, and are still suffering, extremely severe situations due to recent floods. The loss has been phenomenal; and apart from the losses and the deaths, the life of the living has been badly derailed.  And the worst part is – it is still not over, the broken spirit of the victims.
The victims of the flooding urgently need aid from all of us, not just from central or state government.

We are in touch with the government officials and village officers to find out the list of villeges that are badly affected. Please come forward to join hands in helping the affected homes and schools.

Under these testing circumstances, we the people will have to rise and take responsibility to restore the spirit of the people. Many individuals and institutions have resolved to help the government in the rehabilitation of the victims and their normal course of life. We, Vridhi Foundation, have identified our role in this operation – we will target some specified tasks to rebuilt which has lost its existence in the floods.
We are constantly working with our ground level members and with other organizations to ascertain the precise figures so that we could manage our efforts in best possible manner.
We  appeal  to you to join hands and contribute to the cause of rebuilding the spirits and providing them a help which lasts a LONG WAY
