Funds raised by: All common men. (Names included in the donors list).

Most of the kind hearted citizens and several NGOs have donated basic needs. Thanks to those who came forward to understand our fellow human being’s loss. Victims were donated mostly with food and clothes by many generous individuals and institutes. We found a necessity of utensils which is the bridging gap between flood victim's needs and relief funds. It was a great day and a wonderful experience again for Vridhi, the 17th of October 2009. Hoping for this would be a beginning in doing meaningful services to the society, there is much more in store ahead for all of us to achieve together. Admire and appreciate Kashyap for his persistent efforts in securing the items at the right time as per our plan against all odds.

BACKGROUND RESEARCH : Was done in 2 phases. 1. A local social worker of Mahboobnagar was engaged to find out the details of the condition n requirements of various villages, also to assess the benefit of earlier donations if any and confirm the effective utilization of our contributions in real time. One week of intensive study was conducted by the Social Worker and submitted the related feedback. 2. Special efforts have been taken to confirm the usefulness of the donations to the concerned village. In this respect, apart from the earlier feedback, our representatives visited around 5 villages riding on dislocated roads and in challenging weather conditions. After identifying the most needy village, we set out for the distribution phase. Special thanks to Harish and Kashyap for their unparallel efforts in verifying the villages.

Plan of Action : Throughout the earlier flood relief campaigns , the desperate villagers tried to grab the relief material by force and the mob became uncontrollable in some villages in the past few days. To avoid such situations, utensils were taken directly to the houses of the victims. Took enough measures to secure the material from any possible threat and also to carry the help to the deserving victims.

Proceedings : We moved in to the village and informed all the curious villagers to stay at their houses rather than at the vehicle and clarified that the donations would take place only in such case. Distribution started from one house leading the lanes and to every house of Yaptapur. We took the help of local youth for identifying the lanes and houses. Also noted down the details of beneficiaries (Name, Occupation and number of family members). It consumed more time than expected to distribute the help. Group have subdivided themselves as per the tasks such as security of goods at the vehicle, Carrying the utensils to homes , Distribution and noting down the family details, Coordinating with villagers.

Note from Manikanth - From ARROW team.

Appreciate every participant of this event for their commitment. Everybody spent all their energy in extreme heat and dedicatedly delivered every job to success. The members exchanged their duties from time to time. The good co-ordination and co- operation, are the main reasons behind the success of this event.

Also gathered the children of Yaptapur and interacted with them. Took the notes on their education, condition of their schools. Members tried to entertained them and take away their dismay for a while.

Explained the villagers that this support is being given as a token of humanity and is sponsored by common people like them who are not affected by floods. We expect that they too would help other people in need when they come back to their normal life. Most of the villagers expressed their joy and appreciated the support in such times of need. They showered praises for handling the distribution effectively with proper strategies and also credited this activity as the most peaceful one so far in their village.

I feel honoured to be a member of this team and be a part of this great effort. I appreciate every member for their commitment. Right from starting at morning 5 AM till return of 10 PM, not even a single person complained of anything. Everyone gathered promptly at appointed time and place and gave their best efforts. The co-operation among all is really inspiring and worth appreciating. Thanks to one and all. Iam sure more such people would involve in noble works in future. Wesurely can do more effective and productive activities in the coming days, moving ahead with the same spirit of unity, mutual co-operation and unconditional support. Thanks to all the friends for giving me this opportunity to report and share this activity with all our members.

Thank you

Regards,

MANI KANTH. P.
