Dear Nature Lovers,
From past few months we were all hearing about a Global summit on Environment,which everyone called as COP15 / Copenhagen meet.But many of us are not clearly aware of what exactly is Copenhagen and why only COP15 and what was the purpose of the meet and finally what was the outcome of the meet? Was it fruitful or not ? These kind of questions always struck in our mind but unable to judge ourselves with the proper solution for that.
Through this I would like to share my views on one topic on a daily basis.So that it makes us to learn the facts and even helps others ( who are not aware of..) to know and follow slowly...
As a part of our first day..Let us know What is Copenhagen and why only COP15 ??
Topic 1: What is Copenhagen?Geographical Information:Copenhagen is the capital and largest city of Denmark,located on the island of Zealand. "Copenhagen is sometimes called the Paris of the North"
It is the biggest city in Scandinavia. Copenhagen is placed on the east coast of Zealand and alongside the Sound (Øresund). A bridge and tunnel called “Øresundsbroen” - connects Copenhagen with Sweden and its metropolitan areas is named the Oresund Region.

Copenhagen is the seat of the National Parliament (Folketinget), the Royal Residence and Supreme High Court.
Topic 2:Why COP15?COP15 is the fifteenth Conference of the Parties (COP) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The conference held from December 7th to December 18th 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The COP is the highest body of the UNFCCC and consists of environment ministers who meet once a year to discuss the convention’s developments. It is expected that ministers and officials from over 175 countries took part.
